On the knitting front progress has been slow this week. I have hit the dreaded Madeira section of the lace on Shipwreck and reknitted the same three rows about ten time. Finally past it so I am about to commence the Yarn K2tog row in the centre of the lace.

Knitting Playdate, The Craft Fair and some other Yarn Additions

With my not working this week due to the film festival status I was able to partake in a knitting playdate with RoseRed, Knittingness, FredAstep and 1funkyknitwit. A joyous day spent knitting, chatting, laughing, drinking and caressing Ness' new yarn. This one (Wired For Fiber Olivia in Valour) called to me immediately (as did a 50g sport weight but I resisted). A huge amount of fun was had by me (by all really) and I will always curse being at work when they have their regular catch up.

Today I ventured out to the very crowded Sydney Craft Fair. It was a fruitful journey (see below)

In Summary

• 6 sets of sore feet (my mum, my aunty and I - my mother in law skipped due to illness)
• 2 skeins of Habu A148 Wool Stainless Steel in a Deep Purple
• A bag of leftover Silk yarn from Kaalund Various Weights
• A cone of leftover Silk from Kaalund Lace Weight
• A Cone of leftover Wool from Kaalund Lace Weight
• 2 skeins of Touch Lace Yarn in black and Purple
• 1 skein of handpainted linen in Jungle freom Claudia's Hand Painted Yarns
• 1 bead necklace and 1 dragonfly necklace
  

In the mail today I also got a skein of HandMaiden Casbah in Blue, Some Fyberspates scrumptions Lace (silk/merino) in Blackcurrant and some Melosa laceweight in Fantasy.

Noro & Little Guys

I've finished the Little guys in a lovely Purple and Teal colourway from The Knittery.

I had a minor allergic reaction to something we had for breakfast yesterday (probably strawberry residue in whatever they made my smoothie in) that made me decidedly uncomfortable for most of the day. I was determined to finish these though and they took most of the day and evening. The telfast made me twice as vague and awkward as the allergic reaction but eventually all calmed down.

I can't wait until the neice picks them up - she is going to love them.


And now I move on to the NORO what a magic set of colours. Winding it i did notice it is very hard and the yarn itself is spun quite unevenly with lots of slubby bits through it...but the colours make up for everything.

When first we recieved them the colourways (this is 40 by the way) looked so different. But as I was winding them I noticed similar colours as Bex (http://subversivelesbiananarchicknitter.blogspot.com/) ball. It will be interesting to check out the different finished products.

To Dye For - Food Colouring Festival

I spent the last day (well working day) of my holiday dyeing up some Knittery Cashmere Merino (old) yarn with some food colouring.

Lots of fun and heaps of colour.

I wish I had more blue as the blue/red yarn has come up a treat.

A Morning Delivery - Sock Yarn

Being inspired to get me some of that G-Rocks colour that decorates the Southern Summer of Socks Banner and Button I wandered over to Blue Moon Fiber Arts to order up some of that Socks That Rock goodness.

Early this morning a knock came at our door...it was the delivery.
