Decisions Decisions - MY Sock Yarn

I have bagged and packaged and resorted a heap of lace weight, worsted, dk and even some sport weight...but the major part of my clean up is the sock yarn.

I need to pick some yarn for my personal Sock Club 2009.

Gulp! I think i have some sock yarn.

I will spend today bagging it and pulling out the yarn for the Personal Sock Club.

Planning to put things in order

I am having the first of our at home days at the end of our holidays (weekends when everyone else are off don't count - mainly because we had visitors on and off all weekend!)

Today I have
  • Gotten up a little early and done some knitting - Icarus is coming along nicely.
  • Had a cuddle with the cat or did she have a cuddle with me (she has been very affectionate since we returned home)
  • Printed off my Stash listing from Ravelry in preparation for getting my stash in order.
  • Went out for coffee
  • Bought some ziplock bags in preparation for getting my stash in order
  • Bought some tissue paper (to set up my own Sock Club!) inspired by an idea that has been picked up by RoseRed, MissyFee and LynS to name but a few.
  • Bought some bobbins for my sewing machine as the ones I bought previously have all gone missing as part of the move.
  • Thought about six weeks or every second-month for my sock club timeframe.

I am still thinking about the best way to pull out all the stash and recatalogue it. I think I need to clean the dining room (the only room big enough to take on the task. It is really clean but needs some of the odd items that have been left on the dining room table to be returned to their rightful place.

Holidays are Glorious

Some relaxing, too much sun and a little bit of knitting, cricket, wildlife and swimming - the almost perfect holiday. (Sunburn was the bad bit!)

Icarus was a real challenge with the dental floss like BMFA Silk Thread yarn. This was mainly as a result of every stitch marker causing grief to the yarn.

I started and undid this at least 4 times before getting some traction.

Perth was flat, really really flat. Rottnest and Penguin Islands were the highlight with the dolphin watching being quite spectacular. Fave pics below.

Endings are not always Bitter

Don't you love finishing a project. Especially one that has taken a while.

I did get some assistance with the crochet trim around the neck..but I am really happy with this retro-looking jumper in fine 4 ply cotton.

Forgive the hair it was in the 30's (celsius) in our locale today...Very Very warm

After the Christmas Clutter is Cleared...I get to Block!

After we finally clear the dining room of Christmas clutter I get a chance to do some blocking.

Limited space on the boards means i have to do it in two shifts.
Violet Greenjeans has completed the body and started on one of the arms.

Cat in a Box

Obviously with a few months since the move Ally (our cat) has been missing the boxes. We had an empty cat food box which I pulled out of the pantry last night.

Before I had a chance to put it in the recycling she climbed in. Isn't she cute!
On the knitting front I have ripped bag Violet Greenjeans to the beginning of the cable to resize the bottom a bit. I am happy with the second time around.

Yummy yarn.....

I am knitting the Mr Greenjeans pattern in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Twisted in Shrinking Violet.

It is so yummy lots of shades of purple and violet with the twisted ply coming up as a fleck on the softer colours.
I almost didn't mention it is soft and Squishy...a really inspirational yarn.
