Quick Glimpse at the Program for Sydney Film Festival 2011

A little confusing to work out what my subscription will include but it looks like

Thursday 9th
Sing Your Song (documentary about Harry Belafonte now in his 80's)

Friday 10th
Sleeping Beauty (australian premiere competition film Director/Author Julia Leigh mentored by Jane Campion)
POM Wonderful: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (Murton Sporlock)

Saturday 11th
The Future
Even The Rain (Gael Carcia Bernal in a Mexican film scripted by Ken Loach collaborator Paul Laverty)

Sunday 12th
Tabloid (Docuementary Director God Errol Morris His Film The Thin Blue Line is legendary for solving a crime.)
The Forgiveness of Blood (From the director of SFF 2004 film Maria Full of Grace which was a great film)
Cedar Rapids (American Comedy staring John C Reilly and Ed Helms)

Monday 13th
Project Nim (A film about a chimpanzee raised by humans - documentary by the Director of Man on Wire)
A Separation (Iranian Film - they are always great)
Three (Tom Tkywer's latest - enough said - The director of Run Lola Run)

Tuesday 14th
The Tree of Life (Directed by Terrence Malick, you need more, Sean Penn and Brad Pitt - work for you?)
Win Win (Paul Giamatti in a film by Tom McCarthy who directed one of my SFF 2008 Favourites The Visitor)

Wednesday 15th
Cairo 678

Thursday 16th
Norwegian Wood (Haruki Murakami's novel bought to life with Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead doing the score)
Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (From teh diretor of Bus 174 and Elite Squad should be fast-paced and tense)

Friday 17th
Take Shelter
Jane Eyre

Saturday 18th
Toomelah (Selected for Cannes, Ivan Sen directs - Beneath Clouds was sucha great film)
The Guard (Irish Comedy staring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle)

Sunday 19th
Meek's Cutoff (a revisioning of the american western)
The Salt of Life

More once I have had a chance to look over the full program.
June Film Festival Month is coming!

Some (most) of this looks great. I haven't yet had a chance to look at the program. Not sure how much I'll manage this year.
